Austrian Top 10 in Amsterdam

Short Film News (SFN) - Austrian filmmaker Nikolaus Geyrhalter has chosen films which have impressed him and have played a role in his own development for Top 10 program of IDFA 2008.

The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam will also screen Geyrhalter's films and he gives a masterclass during the festival.

His choices include Good News: von Kolporteuren, toten Hunden und anderen Wienern by Ulrich Seidl, Koyaanisqatsi by Godfrey Reggio, Gambling, Gods and LSD by Peter Mettler, and Terrence Malick's The New World.

His latest film 7915km, about the people who live along the route of the Dakar Rally, will compete in the Joris Ivens Competition.

This year, IDFA has dedicated a special program to the work of Dutch documentary maker and cameraman Frans Bromet, and will screen a selection of 16 films.
