55 Films in Full Frame's New Docs Program

Short Film News (SFN) -The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival will screen 55 filmd in its New Docs program. These docs have been selected after considering over 1,200 submissions. Acclaimed films Burma VJ by Anders Ostergaard, Lady Kul el-Arab by Ibtisam Mara'ana, Oblivion by Heddy Honigmann, Rough Aunties by Kim Longinotto, and We Live in Public by Ondi Timoner are among the selected titles.

One World Festival Announces Opening Film

Short Film News (SFN) - Anders Ostergaard's award-winning documentary Burma VJ - Reporting From a Closed Country will open the 11th One World Human Rights Film Festival in Prague, Czech Republic. The documentary which won IDFA 2088 Joris Ivens Award in November, is about a young Burmese reporter who decided to make a detailed record of anti-government demonstrations in September 2007 together with some colleagues.

The documentary is about a group of women who protect and care for the abused, neglected and forgotten children of Durban, South Africa, and the jury acclaimed "bravery of the film's characters which is mirrored by the unflinching courage of the filmmaker's vision."
