Short Film News (SFN) -The 4th Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival is going to be taken place from 21 till 24 April 2008 in Doha, Qatar.
The documentaries completed after January 1st, 2006 will be accepted in this festival and the deadline for the submission is 15 January 2008.
Short Film News (SFN) - Iranian documentary, Rough Cut by Firouzeh Khosrovani won an award in the 8th Asian film festival (Asiatica Film Mediale) in Rome.
The 26-minute long film received Special Mention accompanied by two other films in the documentary section, while the City of Rome Award for the best documentary went to Chinese director Zhao Dayong's Street Life .
Short Film News (SFN) - French director Gonzalo Arijon's Stranded won VPRO Joris Ivens Award Saturday at closing ceremony of the 20th Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA).
The documentary details the 1972 plane crash in the Andes Mountains which saw survivors reduced to eating the flesh of fellow passengers to survive, and features interviews with survivors for the first time.
