
Short Film News (SFN)- The 4th Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival is going to be taken place from 21 till 24 April 2008 in Doha, Qatar.
The documentaries completed after January 1st, 2006 will be accepted in this festival and the deadline for the submission is 15 January 2008.
All competing films must be received by February 1st, 2008.
The documentaries will be categorized and competed in three sections: Short (less than 30 min), Medium (30 - 60 min), and Long (longer than 60 min).
There is also a special section, New Horizon, in which films produced by students or armature filmmakers will be shown and competed.
The Aljazeera Golden Award will be dedicated to the winning films in the three categories that are 50000 Qatar riyals in Long, 40000 Qatar Riyals in Medium, and 30000 Qatar riyals in Short categories. Also the jury award will be given to the winners in each three categories as well.
In the New Horizon Category also a trophy and a cash prize will be dedicated to two best selected films.
Last year 129 documentaries competed in the competition section of Aljazeera Festival among which three were Iranian.
In this edition Nader Talebzadeh will be one of the jury members and in the 2nd edition of this same festival Kamran Shirdel was a jury member.
