Today marks the first birthday of English SFN. In the last year, as an independent and non-governmental organization, we tried our best to gather and publish the latest news on documentary and short films from all over the world - from Asia to North America, Europe to Africa, and Australia to Latin America. No doubt, we missed many events, because the world of documentaries and short films has become so large and our staff only includes a handful of enthusiasts. The only thing that kept us going is our huge interest that goes beyond the geographical boundaries and links us to people all over the world.

Short Film News (SFN) - The Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) is organizing Iran International Documentary Film Festival: Cinema Verite in Tehran. The festival that will consist of competition, non-competition, sideline, and outlook sections will be held from Oct. 15 to 19.

Short Film News (SFN) - Iranian actress and director Niki Karimi has been selected as one of the 60th Cannes Film Festival's jury of the Cinefondation and the short films. The festival will be held from May 16 to 27, while 11 films in short film section and 16 student short films in Cinefondation will compete.
