Short Film News (SFN)- The Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) is organizing Iran International Documentary Film Festival: Cinema Verite in Tehran.
The festival that will consist of competition, non-competition, sideline, and outlook sections will be held from Oct. 15 to 19.
The organizers aim to preserve national identity, to highlight Islamic-Iranian history, society, and culture, to examine the relationship between documentary and reality, and to familiarize Iranian documentary makers with the world's latest achievements in the genre.
In addition, there are plans to present a variety of films from Iran, Central Asia, and Islamic countries at the first international documentary market to be held at the sidelines of the event in Tehran.
Documentary films over 60 min. and under 60 min. will compete in separate sections in the festival's international competition, and 22000 Euro cash prize will be award in addition.
