Today marks the first birthday of English SFN. In the last year, as an independent and non-governmental organization, we tried our best to gather and publish the latest news on documentary and short films from all over the world - from Asia to North America, Europe to Africa, and Australia to Latin America.

No doubt, we missed many events, because the world of documentaries and short films has become so large and our staff only includes a handful of enthusiasts. The only thing that kept us going is our huge interest that goes beyond the geographical boundaries and links us to people all over the world.

We like to express our gratitude to the directors, festivals officials, producers, distributors and so on, who let us know about their films and programs. Also we are certainly indebted to the readers who helped us improve the quality of our work by encouraging or criticizing us during the past year.

Our main goal is to make SFN a virtual place for readers and visitors from all over the world who are interested in documentaries and short films, a place where everyone has a share in due to their interest and feels at home.
