Hot Docs Selects 25 Projects for Documentary Forum

Short Film News (SFN) - Hot Docs announced the 25 projects from 13 countries will be presented at the 10th Toronto Documentary Forum (TDF) which will be held May 6 and 7, 2009.

"The TDF is thrilled to present this 10th annual forum of dynamic documentary and factual content which will appeal to the international broadcasting community and most importantly, audiences around the globe," said Elizabeth Radshaw, director of the TDF.

A showcase forum for over 500 leading industry professionals, the TDF is focused around a schedule of 25 pre-selected international project presentations made to a "roundtable of key international commissioning editors and an observers gallery composed of fellow producers, distributors, sales agents, funders and other buyers."

Participating broadcasters include: ARTE, BBC, CBC/SRC, CCTV, Channel 4, Current TV, HBO, ITVS, MSNBC, NHK, RAI, Sundance Channel, TéléQuébec, TVOntario, WETA, WGBH, WNET, YLE, ZDF and others.

New this year, the Canwest-Hot Docs Funds TDF Pitch Prize will be awarded to the best Canadian pitch at the 2009 TDF. The winner will receive a $40,000 cash prize to go towards the production and completion of their project.
