Iranian Films' Presence at 4 International Events

Short Film News (SFN) - several Iranian documentaries and short films are going to participate in 4 festivals of 3 continents from October to December 2008.

In Austin Asian American Film Festival which is held in Texas State of the U.S.A, 2 documentaries were screened.

The festival took place from October 9-12 in Austin and Reenactment by Bahman Kiarostami, Roya and Omid by Elham Shakerifar and Tehran: 11 pm by Vanessa Langer were showed in Transforming / Performing Iran program.

Austin Asian Film Festival showed more than 40 films from Asian countries during 4 days.

Also Janel Internacional de Cinema do Recife has accepted an Iranian short documentary in its international competition.

The first edition of this festival is going to take place from November 13-20 in Recife, Brazil during which 37 short films will be shown in its International Competition. The Wind is Blowing in the Lane by Diako Yazdani is the sole representative from Iran in this festival.

Cork International Film festival which was opened on October 12 and is going to be finished tonight, October 19, has showed 3 Iranian short films.

The Meteor Shower by Makan Ashouri, and A Cozy Place for the Fishs by Naser Zamiri were screened in International Short Films section and Cat & Mouse by Bijan Zamanpira and Nahid Ghobadi was showed in This is Our World Section of the festival.

In Internatioanl Short Film Festival Cologne, My Tree by Sara Siadat Nejad and Impermissible Problem by Ahmad Golzarian are the two Iranian films to be screened.

The 11th edition of this festival is going to take place from December 3-7 in Cologne, Germany.
