Iranian Documentary about Islamic World Artists

Short Film News- An Iranian team is working to make a documentary film about the craftsmen and intellectuals of the Islamic world.

According to the Turkish newspaper Zaman, the team, including some of Iran's Academy of Art and TV crew, is in Turkey to begin shooting.

Hossein Lalle, currently working on a doctorate at Ankara University's Faculty of Communication, is the designer, and Abolfazl Safari the director of this project.

The filmmaking team's first goal is to allow the artists to become acquainted with one another.

Clearing some points for those who relate violence and terrorism to Islam is another goal mentioned by the producers of this documentary.

The Iranian team entered Turkey last week and has so far met author Cihan Aktas, historian Ilber Ortayli, screenwriter Ihsan Kabil and some other Turkish artisits.

The documentary is going to be screened in the Iranian state TV and international Sahar TV.
