
Short Film News (SFN) - Supported by renowned documentary filmmakers, IDFA's first Summer School will take place from 14 to 19 July in Studio K in Amsterdam.
The IDFAcademy Summer School consists of group meetings and individual support from a range of experts and fifteen international participants will focus specifically on improving the narrative structure of their documentary projects.
Among the tutors will be Greg Sanderson (BBC Storyville), Debra Zimmerman (distributor Women Make Movies), Erez Laufer (editor of Startup.com) and Alexandre Brachet (Upian.com).
The Summer School is accessible to the fifteen selected participants from thirteen different countries. Seven of the fifteen projects will receive financial support from the Jan Vrijman Fund, as well as an extra contribution for the filmmakers for participation in the program.
According to IDFA website, documentaries will be shown in Studio K in the evenings, under the title "Summer School Tutor's Choice", which will also be open to the public.
