Cinema Vérité Announces 2013 Winners

Short Film News (SFN)- The winners of the seventh Cinema Vérité International Documentary Film Festival were announced.

Full-Length Section
The jury is shared equally the best full-length documentary prize of 7000 Dollars; trophy and honoring diploma to "ABU HARAZ" by Maciej Drygas" from Poland and "MEMORIES OF SEASENS" by Mostafa Razagh Karimi from Iran.

"ABU HARAZ" by Maciej Drygas" for the expressive and technical qualities for the expressive of its intimate gaze on a community in Sudan, threaten to be erased by ecological changes.

MEMORIES OF SEASENS" by Mostafa Razagh Karimi for the long-standing research and archival filming of the director who achieves a unique insight into the unknown consequences of the Iraq-Iran war.

Special Prize of Jury; 2000 Dollars, trophy and honoring diploma unanimously awarded to "THE ACT OF KILLING" by J.Oppenheimer.
The film attempts to carefully explore in a documentary collaborative from the darkest sides of human nature.

Mid-Length Section
The jury is awarded best mid-length documentary prize of 5000 Dollars; trophy and honoring diploma to "KNIT DOLL" by Ezatollah Parvazeh" from Iran for its designed portrayal of human endurance of optimism.

The special jury prize of 2000 Dollars; trophy and honoring diploma is awarded to "FATHER AND SON" by Pawel Lozinski from Poland for its exploration of a fragile and yet enduring father and son relationship.

Short Section
The jury is awarded best short-length documentary prize of 3000 Dollars; trophy and honoring diploma to :
"Slomo" by Josh Izanburg" from USA for its excellent cinematic structure, its rhythmic and efficient storytelling style and evocative expression of individuality.

The special jury prize of 2000 Dollars; trophy and honoring diploma is awarded to "FOR ME THE SUN NEVER SETS " by Mina Rad" from France for its warmth and simplicity in telling a profound story.

The seventh Cinema Vérité International Documentary Film Festival took place from December 10 to 17, 2013 in Tehran, Iran.
