Short Film News (SFN)- Two Iranian filmmakers have been selected to judge at the 10th anniversary of Short Soup International Short Film Festival in Sydney.
Sydney Olympic Park Authority in Partnership with Cinewest will be hosting the 10th anniversary of Short Soup International Short Film Festival in a one-night celebration at Cathy Freeman Park, Olympic Boulevard - Sydney Olympic Park during January 13, 2013.
‘The festival was conceived as an Audience Development Project targeting culturally diverse communities in the Western Sydney region.’ Mr. Vahid Vahed (Festival Director) says.
In 2013, the festival will showcase 15 award winning shorts including many International, Asia-Pacific and Australian Premieres in 3 categories (Entrée, Main Course and Dessert) from Argentine, Australia, Canada, Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, Spain and USA.
‘Due to lack of such events in the Western Sydney region, the festival soon became a landmark for showcasing the latest and best short films from around the world annually.’ Says Mr. Vahed.
Since its conception, the festival has become a platform to entertain and educate audiences beyond its regional borders because of its unique programming inviting families (Entrée and Main Course – G rating) and mature audiences (MA15+ rating).
‘The festival attracts thousands of audiences from all over Sydney, which is a great opportunity to familiarize them with the region’s arts and cultural wealth.’ Mr. Vahed Says.
The jury panel members consist of national and international industry professionals who will select one best film from each category as winners for 2013. The winners will be announced on January 13, 2013.
