Marziyeh Riahi to judge at Third Eye

Short Film News (SFN) - Marziyeh Riahi editor in chief of SFN will serve on the jury of the 10th Third Eye Asian Film Festival at Mumbai.

Marziyeh Riahi will judge as a member of the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC).

According to Festival Director, Sudhir Nandgaonkar, over 400 entries have been received from different Asian Countries including Iran, China, Japan, Philippines & … Out of these, 100 feature films and 50 short films will be shown during the week-long festival.

The screening of the Chinese film, ’11 Flowers’, the latest production of the well-known director Xioshuai Wang, will throw open the 10th Third Eye Film Festival at the Ravindra Natya Mandi, Prabhadevi, at 6.30 p.m. on December 22.

The Festival this year is being dedicated to the fond memories of Bollywood’s inimitable star and filmmaker of 65-year standing, Dev Anand, who passed away in London on December 3. As a gesture of paying tribute him, his memorable film, ‘Guide’ will be shown.

Iranian director Asghar Farahadi’s ‘A Sepration’, which fetched him the Best Director Award at the just-concluded International Film Festival of India (IFFI, Goa), will be the Centrepiece of the festival while director Ketan Mehta’s as yet unreleased film, ‘Rang Rasiya’, will be the Closing Film.

Two films each of Iranian director Asghar Farahadi and Afghan director Siddiq Barmak will be showcased under the ‘Reflections’ section.
 
The 10th Third Eye Asian Film Festival will take place in Mumbai-India from December 22-29, 2011.
