Iranian Films Line up for IDFA

Short Film News (SFN)- The selected films for the 24th edition of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) are announced and Iran by having 4 representatives is going to participate in this event.

The program contains 319 titles (from more than 3,600 submissions), including 88 documentaries that will have their world premières during the festival.

Askoo by Mohammad Ali Hashemzehi, The Last Days of Winter by Mehrdad Oskouei,
Painted Miracles by Rokhsareh Ghaemmaghami and This Is Not a Film by Jafar Panahi & Mojtaba Mirtahmasb are Iranian Films among the films scheduled to be screened at the festival.

As part of its 2011 events, the festival will have a special sidebar recognizing documentary cinema from Brazil and will honor “The Interrupters” director Steve James with a special award and the screening of his documentary top 10 as well as a number of his own films.

The 24th IDFA will take place in Amsterdam from 16 to 27 November.
