Iranian Cinema Night Takes Place in Berkeley

Short Film News (SFN) - Alegio Chocolate Film Society presented a night of Iranian Cinema featuring two award-winning short films by Naser Zamiri On June 18, 2008.

The event took place at Epicurious Garden at 1511Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley (San Francisco Bay Area, California).
 
The evening opened with Iranian music by master santoor player Mahvesh Guerami. Then, filmmaker Karina Epperlein welcomed the full house of 90 people, introducing Naser Zamiri's films.

Before the screening of A Cozy Place for the Fish and Lullaby for Wakefulness cinema professor Dr. Tony Kashani gave a 20 minute talk on contemporary Iranian cinema.
 
Afterwards Karina and Tony led a very lively discussion with the audience. The evening was a big success and people did not want to leave.
