Hot Docs Appoints New TDF Director

Short film News (SFN) - Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival announced that Elizabeth Radshaw has been named the new director of the Toronto Documentary Forum (TDF).

TDF is the Festival's premier international market event, and since its launch in 2000 has raised millions of dollars for Canadian and international documentary film-makers.

"We are delighted to welcome Elizabeth to the team," said Hot Docs executive director Chris McDonald. "She brings fresh ideas and boundless energy, backed with solid international industry experience. We look forward to seeing the TDF grow and develop under her watch."

Radshaw comes to Hot Docs from TVF International Television Distribution in London, a U.K.-based independent specialist factual distributor, where she was head of acquisitions. 

She also planned marketing strategies for programs and was active in promotions at key international markets.

Michaelle McLean, the founding director of the TDF stepped down in June after nine years. Among other pursuits, she is currently the director of the Canwest-Hot Docs Completion Fund.

Next year's TDF takes place May 6 &7 during the Hot Docs Festival, April 30-May 10. Applications for project presentation slots will be accepted beginning in December via festival's website: www.hotdocs.ca.
