Short Film News (SFN)- Edinburgh Middle Eastern & Iranian Film Festival is going to show 14 Iranian documentaries, short films and features.
The festival that is going to take place from 31st January till 15th February 2009 in the capital city of Scotland is a part of Iran Cultural Festival in Edinburgh that is in different sections such as book, food, and music in addition to cinema.
Three features by Turkish and Lebanese young filmmakers are going to be shown in this festival as well.
The festival will be opened by screening As Simple as That by Reza Mirkarimi and will be followed by a Question & Answer meeting with the film’s director.
Where is the Friend’s House? by Abbas Kiaraostami on 2 February, Bashu, the Little Stranger by Bahram Beizai on 4 February, and Nargess by Rakhshan Bani Etemad on 6 February will be screened.
On February 7th The Scent of Joseph’s Shirt by Ebrahim Hatamikia and Two Women by Tahmineh Milani will be showed.
Tehran has no more Pomegranates!, a documentary by Massoud Bakhshi, and Red Burqa, a short film by Roxana Pope that is a co-production of Iran and Scotland are going to be showed on 8 February and also 3 Women by Manijeh Hekmat is going to be screened on the same day.
The film screening will be followed on 9 February by showing Have You Another Apple? by Bayram Fazli, on 12 February Fireworks Wednesday by Asghar Farhadi, on 13 February Lonely Tune of Tehran by Saman Salur, 14 February It’s Winter by Rafi Pitts, and on 15 February The Runner by Amir Naderi.
Also Falafel by Michel Kammoub from Lebanon, Summer Book by Sayfi Teoman from Turkey and Falling from Earth by Chadi Zeneddine from Lebanon are the films to be shown on the last days of the festival.
