Iranian Filmmaker's Animation in Bilbao Film Festival

Short Film News (SFN)- In the 50th edition of Bilbao Documentary and Short Film Festival there is not any work from Iran and the festival only will screen an animation by an originally Iranian filmmaker who is a Canadian citizen.

80 films are selected to compete in fiction, documentary, animation and experimental sections of Bilbao Film Festival this year.

11 Rose Flowers is an animation by Pedram Goshtasb Pour, the animator and a special effect professional who is living in Canada, which is selected in this festival.

This black and white animation happens in 1929 in a small town and is the story of two men who are trying to attract the attention of a lady.

11 Rose Flowers has been screened in Palm Springs, Miami, Nevada, Rain Dance, and Clermont Ferrand festivals and has won prizes in Stock Film Festival and Moving Pictures Short Film Competition.

This year, Bilbao Film Festival has specified some of its sections to Venezuela short films, Americans in Bilbao, and French Documentary Cinema. A Glance to the others and Special Screen are the other sections in this festival.

Iran is absent in this festival this year while in the past editions of it, Iran won some prizes.
