Iran Wins Best Short Film Award at Didar Festival

Short Film News (SFN)- The winners of the third Didar Festival were announced on the National day of Tajikistan Cinema, 16th October, in Mayakovsky Hall in Dushanbe, Tajikistan and the award of the best short film went to Iran.

The ceremony was started by paying tribute to the experienced Tajik critic, Ata Mohammad Navich, and after that the awards of Tajikistan section were announced.

The Award of Bargah Sokhan Institution went to Saied Ghaderi for his last film The Last Hope. Hapiness by Ali Khoshvaght from Tajikistan won the Award of Switzerland Cooperation Office in Tajikistan which was the amount of 2000 USD.

The Joint Heritage Award, that is 2000 USD and the expenses of a course on filmmaking in Iran for each winner, were dedicated by Documentary and Experimental Film Center to Lawful & Unlawful by Eskandar Osman and The Flower by Zolfieh Sadegh Ghaveh.

The Award of Tajik Critics went to 113th, a short film by Talgat Bektursunov from Kazakhstan and the Press Award from Tajikistan Journalists Office was dedicated to I did not Say by Azad Malikov from Tajikistan.

The Grand Prix of the festival each of which includes 2000 USD and a Trophy of the festival went to two films: Road of Hope by Temir Birnazarov from Kerkizestan in which he showed the society through a small community of people as the symbols of a society in a comedy and An Apple from Paradise by Homayoun Morovat from Afghanistan that is a very impressive melodrama showing one of the most important problems in the world today.

The Jury Award including 1000 USD and a Trophy of the Festival went to Yurt by Shahaboddin from Uzbekistan due to elegant function of the characters in a simple story with the realistic social background and without melodramatic theme.

The award of the best short film including the amount of 1500 USD and the Festival Trophy went to Limit of Circle by Shahram Mokri from Iran due to its beautiful and difficult showing of the wandered people who are enslaved themselves in their limited world and Knot by Ali Isa Jabarov from Azerbaijan because of its simple story and beautiful directing to show a mixture of past, present, and the future with a good balance in cinema language.

The third edition of Didar Short Film Festival took place from 12th till 16th October in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
