Short Film News (SFN)- The Iranian films to be shown in Spotlight on Iran section of the 15th edition of HotDocs International Documentary Film Festival are announced.
The festival organizers who where in Iran during Cinema Verite Festival in Tehran, selected 6 short, semi-long and long documentaries to be screened in Spotlight on Iran.
According to this report, All my Mothers by Ebrahim Saeedi and Zahawi Sanjawi, Cyanosis by Rokhsareh Ghaemmaghami, It's Always Late for Freefom by Mehrdad Oskuei, The Red Card by Mahnaz Afzali, Tehran Has no More Pomegranates by Massoud Bakhshi, and Where Do I Belong? by Mahvash Sheikholeslami are the selected films to be screened in this section.
The festival organizers announced that the other Iranian films that are going to be participated in the other sections of the festival will be announced later.
Also the programs of Made in Mexico section of HotDocs is announced and 6 documentaries from Mexico are going to be shown in it.
HotDocs' Special Presentations program offers a collection of films which have gathered awards and acclaimed in different festivals.
Her Name is Sabine (Sandrine Bonnaire) winner of Cannes' FIPRESCI Award (Director's Fortnight), Hold Me Tight, Let Me Go (Kim Longinotto) winner of Britdoc's Best British Feature Documentary, Man on Wire (James Marsh) Winner of Sundance's World Cinema Jury Prize, Standard Operating Procedure (Errol Morris) Winner of IDFA's Joris Ivens Award, and Hootball Undercover (David Assmann & Ayat Najafi) Winner if Berlin International Film Festival's Teddy Award are some of the films in this section.
This year, more than 125 films of different countries are going to be screened in competition and non-competition sections of HotDocs Festival. This festival is going to take place from 17 till 27 April in Toronto.
