Short Film News (SFN)- The 27th edition of Jean Rouch International Film Festival is going to take place from 15 till 27 March in Paris.
This is a festival for ethnological films and two Iranian films are participating in it this year.
The Refrained of Locked Lenjs by Mehdi Omidvari and Roya & Omid by Elham Shkerifar are the two Iranian films in this festival competing with other works from different countries.
All the films selected by the festival compete for one of the following prizes: Grand prix Nanook-Jean Rouch, Prix Mario Ruspoli, and Prix Bartok.
Stefanie Alexander, Daniel Friedman, Christine Hattine, and Tieri Rouch from France, Dimitro Boudrala from Romania, and Jian Franco Espitili from Italy are the jury members of this festival.
This festival is dedicated to the professionals in the fields of cinema and anthropology and each year a special glance is given to the works of a cinema school in it.
Jean Rouch is a famous French filmmaker and anthropologist and is know as the greatest anthropologist in 20th century. He has improved anthropological cinema by connecting these two categories.
The Mad Masters, Me, A Black, and The Lion Hunters are some of his famous documentaries made in 1950's.
