Short Film News (SFN)- The organizers of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) announced that the 21st edition of this festival is going to take place from 20 to 30 November 2008.

The festival is going to have 4 main competition sections and 2 deadlines for the applicants are announced that are 1 May and 10 August.

According to this report, the terms, conditions and the submission forms will be available on the official website of the festival www.idfa.nl from 1 March.

Last year about 320 films in different sections of this festival were showed.

Also it is announce that about 210 applications were sent to Jan Vrijman Fund (related to IDFA) to grant contributions to films and other documentary projects.

45 different countries are asked for the grants of this organization for the mentioned projects that include films in producing process or workshops and documentary festivals.

A selecting team of 7 persons are going to select the projects till the end of March and the list is going to be announced till the beginning of April.

The deadline to send the application for receiving the grant from Jan Vrijman Fund for the next edition is 1 June.
