Retrospective of Ermanno Olmi in Navarra Documentary Festival

Short Film News (SFN)- The 4th edition of Navarra International Documentary Film Festival in Spain is going to have a retrospective program on Ermanno Olmi, the famous Italian filmmaker.
The winner of the Golden Palm at Cannes for The Tree with the Wooden Clogs in 1978 and the Golden Lion at Venice for The Legend of the Holy Drinker in 1988, Olmi started working in cinema field in the 50's by making documentaries.

He presented in Cannes Film Festival in 2007 with his last film, One Hundred Nails, and announced that he would never work with fiction again and that he intended to work only with documentaries from then on.

Navarra Festival is going to show some of the documentaries and fictions of this experienced filmmaker in a special program.

Also, the organizers of the festival announced the selected films for the international competition that is 14 long and 11 short documentaries.

This year the festival received 800 films from 70 countries among which 25 were selected.
17 films were sent to this festival from Iran and Iran was the 9th country in the number of the films sent to the festival but none of the selected films are Iranian.
