Short Film News (SFN)- An Iranian film won the award for the best edit in 2nd edition of the Wordless International Short Film Festival.
This festival, that took place on 29 and 30 December in Hyderabad, India, gave the award for the best edit in the Young Adult Category to Water Jar by Marziyeh Yousefi and Zohreh Sabaghian.
This was the category where films made by directors 15-22 years old were showed and the award for the best film & director in this category was given to Assimilation by Eryk Bagshaw from Australia.
Also the experimental film, Electric Sleep by Kevin Kunze from the U.S.A, won the award for the best sound design.
In Adult Category an award was given to the best film, Christmas Hitler, an animation by Moritz Mayerhofer.
The first edition of Wordless International Short Film Festival was held in Maybod, Yazd Province in Iran by the efforts of International Children and Youth Multimedia Access Network (ICYMAN), the Australian Cinewest, Islamic Guidance & Cultural Organization of Maybod in November 2006.
In the second edition that was held in India about 100 films applied among which 10 films were selected for Young Adult Category and 6 films for Adult Category.
In Young Adult Category 4 films from Iran participated: Henna (Farhad Ayatolahi & Alireza Momayezzadeh), Alexande's Prison (Behnam Abasifar), Water Jar (Marziyeh Yousefi & Zohreh Sabaghian), Teenage Wedding (Ehsan Mohammadlo & Sajad Shahedi).
