Short Film News (SFN)- The 7th edition of DocPoint - Helsinki Documentary Film Festival in Finland is going to have a special program for Iran documentary cinema.
Virpi Suutari, the artistic director of this festival who was in Iran during Cinema Varite Festival, has chosen some classic and new Iranian documentaries to be screened in this program.
The House is Black by Forough Farokhzad, The Night It Rained by Kamran Shirdel, Zinat, One Special Day by Ebrahim Mokhtari, The Ladies Room by Mahnaz Afzali, Apple by Samira Makhmalbaf, and Tehran Has no Pomegranate by Masoud Bakhshi are some of the films chosen for this program.
DocPoint Festival is competitive only for national films and in International section it has thematic and regional programs.
Among the various sections of this festival are DocKINO, a special section for documentaries with the theme of children and young adults and Doc View, in which documentaries from the neighbor countries of Finland are going to be shown.
The 7th edition of DocPoint Festival is going to take place from 23 till 27 January 2008 in Helsinki.
