Short Film News (SFN)- The representative of the International Hot Docs Festival invited Iranian documentarists to participate in this festival that is the most important documentary cinema event in Canada.
Sean Farnel, the Organizing Manager of Hot Docs Festival, who was in Iran as a jury member in the first Iran International Documentary Film Festival: Cinema Verite, was surprised by the style of holding and the number of audiences and filmmakers in it. He invited Iranian documentarists to send their works for the 15th Hot Docs International Film Festival that is going to take place from 17 to 27 April 2008 in Toronto.
This festival has three sections: short documentaries (Less than 30 minutes), semi-feature (30-60 minutes), and feature documentaries (over 60 minutes) and accept different works with free subjects. The filmmakers should fill out the application form, send 2 versions of the film in DVD form together with the complete production cast list, director's biography and filmography and a summary of the film, at last till 10th December 2008.

Chris MacDonald, the Executive Manager of Hot Docs Festival, who traveled to Iran with Sean Farnel, explained his trip to Iran "unforgettable" and appreciated all the efforts have been done for this festival in a letter to the holding team of Cinema Verite.
The first Iran International Documentary Film Festival: Cinema Verite was taken place in 5 days in Cinema Felestin and Cinema Qiam.
