Iranian Documentary in Montreal Festival

Short Film News (SFN)- 110 films from 30 countries are going to be shown in the 10th edition of Montreal International Documentary Film Festival (Recontres internationales du documentaire de Montreal -RIDM)

This festival is going to be held from 7 to 18 November 2007 in Canada. It has four different sections and a film by Mehrdad Oskouie is the only representative from Iran.

It's Always Late for Freedom by Mehrdad Oskouie will be presented in Camera at the Ready section where 25 other films will compete together. In this section the protest films, films that denounce injustice and defend utopias will be presented.

The three other sections of this festival are: Camera Stylo, First Camera, and Ecocamera.

RIDM will be opened by screening Junior, a documentary about hockey and will be closed by showing Shake the Devil off by Peter Entell which is about St. Augustine Church in New Orlean after Hurricane Katrina.

There will be a program of paying tribute to Albert & David Maysles in this year's festival as well.
