Danish Docs Won the Most Awards of IDFA

Short Film News (SFN) - The winners of the 19th edition of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) are announced.

The VPRO Joris Ivens Award went to The Monastery - Mr. Wig & the Nun by Pernille Rose Gronkjar from Denmark as the best film and Tender's Heat Wild Wild Beach by Susanna Baranzhieva, Viatly Mansky, and Alexander Rastorguev from Russia won the Special Jury Award.

The winners of Silver Wolf (special for documentaries less than 60 min) and the Silver cub (special for documentaries less than 30 min) are two Danish documentaries.

The Silver Wolf Award was for Enemies of Happiness by Eva Mulvad and the winner of Silver Cub Award is My Eyes by Erlend E. Mo.

The First Appearance Award went to We Are Together by Paul Taylor from England. This film also won The Audience Award.

The MovieSquade DOC U! Award went to A Lesson of Belarusian by Miroslaw Dembinski from Poland.

The 19th edition of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) started on 23 November and is going to be finished today, 3 December 2006.
