Women's Film Festival Cologne Focuses on Iran

Short Film News - The International Women's Film Festival Cologne is going to show 14 Iranian short films and documentaries by Iranian women filmmakers.

This festival will be held from 11-15 October 2006. It has Iran Focus part in which there will be some conferences and lectures in addition to showing the Iranian films.

Fortune-telling (Sarah Saeidan), Wind, Ten Yaers Old (Marzieh Vafamehr), Playing with Life (Mahboubeh Honarian), The Boy, the Girl, the Old Man ( Monir Gheydi), Deserted Restaurant (Maryam Abbaspour) are the 5 short films showing in this festival.

From Scream to Scream (Pantea Bahrami), The World is my Home (Sepideh Farsi) are the two documentaries and Cease Fire & The Unwanted Woman (Tahmineh Milani), Women's Prison (Manijeh Hekmat), The Sweet Jam (Marziyeh Boroumand), Under the Skin of the City (Rakhshan Bani Etemad), On a Friday Afternoon (Mona Zandi Haghighi), City Walls - My Own Private Tehran (Afsar Shafie) are the features in this festival.

Also there would two conferences: by the presence of Milani, Zandi Haghighi and Madhusree Dutta, the Indian actress, about Iranian & Indian women and their relations with traditions and modernity and the other one by the presence of Bahrami, Shafie & Farsi about the situation of migrated Iranian women.

Iranian Night is another program in this festival including Iranian traditional music and photo gallery with the subject of Isfahan.
