Short Film News - Alfred Yaghoubzadeh, the famous Iranian photographer living in France, will hold a photography workshop in the 5th International Film & Photos Festival of Students - Iran.
In this workshop, Alfred Yaghoubzadeh will focus on photojournalism, and talk about his personal experiences and memories to the students.
It is hoped that the photo section of this festival that now is just for the Iranian artists will go international in its 6th edition.
Alfred Yaghoubzadeh gave up his education in internal design in 1978 and began photographing. His first experience was in Iran-Iraq war and cooperation with Associated Press and Sigma Photography Agency. He also worked as a photographer for Sipa Press of France for over 2 decades.
His first works were published in Iran under the title of Iran-Iraq War and War Faces.
His main photographic activities are about hostage-taking events in Lebanon. He took pictures for 13 years among Palestinians fighting the Israeli soldiers.
He has taken pictures from the crises in countries such as Afghanistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, Somalia, Cuba, Uzbekistan, Russia, Iraq, China, Chechnya, Seri Lanka, etc.
Alfred Yaghoubzadeh has also a great experience in portraying the traditions and religious ceremonies of over 24 countries. He has published his works in this field in a book and has held exhibitions of these works in Milan, Budapest, and some other European cities.
His latest works are about the recent war between Israel and Lebanon.
He is the winner of the first grade prize of World Press Photo and the best photo in NPPA in photojournalism. He was also a member of photo selection team in World Press Photo Festival in Netherlands in 2004.
The 5th International Film & Photos Festival of Students - Iran will be held 3-7 December, 2006.
