Short Film News - Two Iranian films are going to be shown in 12th Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films in the USA.
This festival is going to be held from 24 - 30 Aug 2006 and 350 short films are going to be shown in different parts of it. About 70 of these films will have their world premiere.
A Little Bit Higher by Mehdi Jafari and Duet by Kiarash Anvari are the two Iranian films participating in this festival.
Palm Springs International Festival is going to be opened by showing 8 international award winning shorts from festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Clermont-Ferrand, Annecy, Toronto, and European Film Awards.
This year the selected films are going to be shown under 48 thematic sections such as: September 11, crime, happiness, true stories, war, Middle East, and human relations.
Also focusing on women filmmakers, Canadian short films and the premiere of a collection of Nickelodeon films are among their special programs.
In addition to showing films in this festival there will be some seminars and professional meetings with the topics such as: showing short films on the cell phones, studying the successful ways for participating in the festivals, the women's short films and the role of music in short films.
Palm Springs Festival is the most important event on short films in the North America.
