Short Film News- Reza Mirkarimi, director of Under the Moonlight and So Close, So Far is directing a documentary on Abbas Kiarostami's life.
It is a part of a project of making films about 30 great Iranian filmmakers. One third of the Mirkarimi's documentary has been done in 2 weeks.
Mirkarimi is also the acting producer of this 30-part project that will be made in 2 sections: "One Film - One Experience" and "One Filmmaker - One Glance".
The first section includes the documentaries about the most impressive Iranian films after the Islamic revolution and the second section is about the lives of Iranian filmmakers.
Some of these documentaries are finished and some others are still in shooting process.
For this project, young directors such as Maziar Miri, Bahman Kiarostami, Shahram Mokri and Mani Haghighi are directing documentaries about Kianoush Aiari, Manouchehr Taiab, Reza Kianian, Mohammad Reza Aslani, Kambouzia Partovi and Darius Mehrjouiee.
Meanwhile, Abbas Kiarostami is cooperating with Mania Akbari, the actress of 10, in her second movie.
10+4 is based on a project by Abbas Kiarostami and is in continuation with 10. In this film, Mania Akbari recreates her own personal experience in encountering with cancer.
This is Akbari's second filmmaking experience. Her first film, 20 Fingers, was very successful in international festivals and won the best digital film award in Venice Film Festival.
