DOK.FEST 2006 Announced Its Winners

Short Film News - DOK.FEST 2006, the 21st edition of Munich International Documentary Film Festival, announced its award-winning films and directors in 5 categories

 

In this year's DOK.FEST, the documentary film award for Bayerischer Rundfunk and Telepool went to the German film Castells by Gereon Wetzel, along with a cash prize of 10 thousand euros

 

The award for the Special Documentary from Bayerische Landeszentrale fur Neue Medien (BLM) along with a cash prize of 2500 euros went to the British film Sisters in Law directed by Kim Longinotto and Florence Ayisi

 

In this edition of DOK.FEST 2006, the jury for the Horizons Prize gave a special mention to the film Arcana by Cristobal Vicente from Chile, while handing the Horizons Festival Prize to the film Angola - Saudades De Quem Te Ama by Richard Pakleppa from Namibia, along with a cash prize of 3 thousand euros

 

Also Bayern Documentary Talent Award (worth 5000 euros) went to the film Yazid's Brothers by David Vogel, and the film Pornotalk by Martin H. Schmitt was awarded with this year's AVID prize
