Petr Lom Making a Documentary about People’s Letters to Ahmadinejad

Short Film News (SFN)- Petr Lom, a famous documentaries from Czech Republic, with the financial sponsorship of Sundance Organization whose manager id Robert Redford, is making a documentary on Iranians letters to their president.

Sundance Organization published the name list of 20 films which are going to receive the grant in autumn 2008 and Letters to President by Petr Lom was among them.

The documentary which is a co-production of Iran and U.S.A is about Iranians who share their hopes and fears through letters to President Ahmadinejad and his Presidential Letter Writing Center.

Born in 1968 in Prague, Petr Lom made The Kidnapped Bride in Kyrgyzstan which was screened in more than 60 international festivals and won the best jury award in 6th edition of Kish International Film Festival.

Lom who has Ph.D. in political philosophy from Harvard University, made On a Tightrope in 2007 that is about Moslem minority in China and screened in Sundance Festival.
This film won WatchDocs Grand Prize, Chicago Documentary Festival Grand prix, Astra Film Festival international prize.

You Cannot Hide from Allah is a TV documentary in the same year which was screened in Tehran Short Film Festival this year.
