
Short Film News (SFN) - The European Film Academy (EFA) announced the nominations for European Film Academy Documentary 2008 - Prix Arte.
Ten films will compete in this category and jury will now convene in Berlin to screen the nominated films and decide on the winner.
Appointed by the European Film Academy and ARTE, the members of the documentary jury are Karoline Leth from SF Film Production (Denmark), Kirsi Tykkylainen from Moscow Film Festival (Finland), and Alan Hayling from Renegade Pictures Ltd (UK).
The winner will be presented at the 21st European Film Awards Ceremony on Saturday 6 December, in Copenhagen.
The nominated documentaries are:
Durakovo - Village of Fools by Nino Kirtadze, France
Fados by Carlos Saura, Portugal/Spain
Children. As Time Flies by Thomas Heise, Germany
The Mother by Antoine Cattin & Pavel Kostomarov, Switzerland
Man on Wire by James Marsh, UK
Stranded: I’ve Come from a Plane that Crashed on the Mountains by Gonzalo Arijon, France
Citizen Havel by Pavel Koutecky & Miroslav Janek, Czech Republic
Shadow of the Holy Book by Arto Halonen, Finland
Rene by Helena Trestikova, Czech Republic
The Dictator Hunter by Klaartje Quirijns, the Netherlands
