A Retrospection on Iranian Anthropological Cinema in Scotland

Short Film News (SFN)- St Andrews University in Scotland and Iran Heritage Foundation are going to hold a 4-days program about Iran Anthropologic Cinema in June next year.

''Visual Representation of Iran'' includes conference, film season and photographic exhibition.

The call entry for film season section announced the feature and documentary anthropology films on Iran can be participated and a version of works should be sent to them till 31 December 2007.

Films with the themes of war, religion, gender, nation, urbanism, society, ritual, etc. can be sent to this program.

The call of submission for the papers of Conference announced that all papers on anthropology in Iranian cinema can be sent to this program till 31 January 2008.

The key speakers of the conference are Prof. Peter I Crawford from University of Tromsoe in Norway, Dr. Rolf Husman from The Institute for Knowledge and Media in Germany, and Prof. Hamid Naficy Professor of Communication in Department of Radio, TV, Film of Northwestern University of U.S.A.

Also there would be a photograph exhibition of the famous Iranian photographer, Kaveh Golestan: Kaveh Golestan - Recording the Truth in Iran.

Visual Presentation of Iran will be taken place from 13 till 16 June 2008 and Farabi Cinema Foundation, Documentary & Experimental Film Center, Iranian Young Cinema Society, and Ravayat-e Fath Institute are the organizations support this program.
