Short Film News (SFN) - "Cinema Verite" - Iran International Documentary Film Festival invited filmmakers around the world to submit their documentary for its second edition.
The festival will take place from 15 to19 October 2008 in Tehran, and documentaries in any formats and subjects which have produced after January 2006 are eligible to submit.
The international competition consists of two sections: the films and videos up to 60 minutes, and the films and videos longer than 60 minutes.
The entry deadline is 15 July 2008.
An international Jury will award Best documentary longer than 60 min. (10,000 Euros, Diploma and trophy of the festival), Best documentary up to 60 min. (7,000 Euros, Diploma and trophy of the festival), and Special prize of the jury (5,000 Euros, Diploma and trophy of the festival).
As well as the international, Iran Documentary Fund (IDF) supports the production of high-quality, creative documentaries all around the world.
Established by Documentary & Experimental Film Center (DEFC), IDF contributes the selected Iranian and international projects in production or post-production up to 20,000 Euros.
Also, Doc Market which is reserved to Iranian documentaries will offer the international distributors, buyers, festival and TV representatives a opportunity to view recent Iranian documentaries.
