
Short Film News (SFN) - Davis Guggenheim's documentary It Might Get Loud about rock stars Jimmy Page, the Edge and Jack White completed the 59th Berlin Film Festival's competition lineup.
Academy Award-winning Guggenheim has brought together three electric guitar maestros, and his doc weaves together their stories to reveal how each of them developed a unique sound.
The festival organizers also added Richard Loncraine's comedy My One and Only to the list, and so 26 films will be presented in the competition program, 18 of which will compete for the Golden and Silver Bears.
Of the 18 films in competition, 14 are world premieres, and there are 17 world premieres in the complete Competition program.
French director Claude Chabrol and German film and television producer Gunter Rohrbach will be awarded the Berlinale Camera for their great service to cinema and lifetime achievements in film.
Since 1986, Berlin Film Festival has presented the Berlinale Camera to film personalities or institutions to which it feels particularly indebted and it wishes to express its thanks with this award.
The 59th Berlin Film Festival will be held February 5 - 15.
