European Festivals' Award for two Iranian Filmmakers

Short Film News SFN)- Two Iranian filmmakers won the awards of two European festivals in the recent days.

Morteza Akouchian in the International Film Festival of Patras City and Sara Siadat Nejad in Ourense International Independent Film Festival won prizes.

Akouichia who is mostly known as a Graphic designer, won the best Video Art in the 10th edition of the International Film Festival of Patras City, Greece.

The Gaze is the name of his film which is a 100-minutes video art that is an experimental story about love, life and war.

Patras City Festival took place from 3rd till 11th October and The Gaze competed with 23 other films to win the prize.

My Tree, a 6-minutes short film by Sara Siadat Nejad won the Innovation in New Media Award in the 13th edition of Ourense International Independent Film Festival.

Ourense Film Festival took place from 11th till 18th October and showed 114 films in 5 competition categories: Feature Films, Documentaries, Short Films, Animation, and New Media.

My Tree is an experimental work about a young painter who is trying to draw a dead tree in the seaside. Siadat Nejad and Soleiman Habibi play the roles in this short film.

This film has been screened in more than 12 international festivals.
