Short Film News - A Chilean documentary director will make a documentary about Iran to show the real images of the country and its people.
Dauno Totoro Taulis has come to Iran for the first time to participate in Latin American Cinema Festival in several universities of Iran.
Taulis, the screenwriter, director and producer of 5 long documentaries, had one of them, The Plunder, shown in Fajr International Film Festival last year.
He was invited to Iran for a Latin American cinema retrospect in Fajr Festival, and decided to make a co-production with Misaq Cultural Center in Iran. He said to have a closer cultural cooperation with Iran, Iranian documentaries will be shown in Chile as well.
He said that the Chileans nearly knew nothing about Iran, the Iranians, and their cinema, so he likes to give accurate information about this country, not only to his people, but to the people in Latin America and Europe.
The main theme of Taulis's co-production is a perspective of the ordinary people's lives, culture, religion, traditions, and lifestyle in different cities of Iran.
According to Taulis, about 12 to 15 features and 30 documentaries are made in Chile every year. The Chilean government supports feature films, but for making documentaries directors should be supported by persons or cooperate with another country.
