Short Film News (SFN) - 3 Iranian short films are among the nominees to win the European Off Film Awards: Grand Off.

The event is for short films and in its second edition the winners are going to be selected in 10 categories.

This year there will be one additional category: The Best Non-European Production in which the works from Iran, Iraq, Philippines, South Africa, and India are going to compete.

The candidates in this category are: Shadows of Silence by Shahriar Pourseidian from Iran, Ambulance by Richard Legaspi from Philippines, Feminine, Masculine by Sadaf Foroughi from South Africa and Iran, Foot Wear by Amudhan R.P. from India, and Angles Die in the Soil by Babak Amini from Iran and Iraq.

The Awards of Grand Off are going to be dedicated to the best non-European directing, screenplay, edit, cinematography, actor, actress, fiction, documentary, animation, and film.

This independent event was established in Warsaw, Poland in 2006 and its first edition was held in 2007.

18 countries have participated in establishing this event together with the partners who are all strongly related to the independent film industry and they are also members of the jury of Grand Off.

The awards are going to be presented to the winners on 29th November in Warsaw.
