Natalie Portman's "Eve" to Open Venice's Corto Cortissimo

Short Film News (SFN) - Natalie Portman's directorial debut will open the 65th Venice Film Festival's short film section, Corto Cortissimo. Portman's 17-minute Eve , which stars Lauren Bacall and Ben Gazzara, will screen in out of competition slot in the Corto Cortissimo section, along with three other opening-night films.

Short Film News (SFN) - Sarajevo Film Festival announced that 69 young filmmakers from Southeast European countries will participate in the 2nd Sarajevo Talent Campus. Short Film News (SFN) - Author, broadcaster and comedian Phill Jupitus will host an Encounters Short Film Festival tribute to British veteran animator, Oliver Postgate. The event will be held on Sunday 27 July at Watershed, next to Bristol Harbour, to mark the 50th anniversary of the start of Oliver Postgate's stop-motion career and of Smallfilms, the company he founded with artist and puppet-maker, Peter Firmin.
