Herat Women's Film Festival kicks off

Short Film News (SFN)- The first Herat Women's Film Festival kicked off yesterday in Afghanistan.

Afghan women attend in the first-ever International Women's Film Festival in Afghanistan, in the city of Herat on March 7, 2013.

The Festival has already received more than 60 films from 15 countries, including Iran, India, Canada, South Korea, China and Bangladesh.

Armanshahr Foundation/OPEN ASIA and ROYA Film House were established this International Women's Film Festival in Afghanistan.

The Festival is supported by media such as TOLO TV, 8 Sobh daily, the International Association of Women in Radio and Television- India, Civil Society and Human Rights Organization, Shahrzad (radio for Girls), Mardom and Mojdeh radios, SFN and a number of other national human rights and international organizations.

The first Herat Women's Film Festival will run 7 to 9 March 2013 in Afghanistan by the news sponsoring of SFN.
