Short Film News (SFN)- Armanshahr Foundation/OPEN ASIA and ROYA Film House announced the first International Women's Film Festival in Afghanistan.
The city of Herat will host the three-day International Film Festival on the occasion of International Women's Day. The Festival will take place every year, however the first Festival is not competitive.
The Festival has already received more than 60 films from 15 countries. A selection of these films will be shown during the festival and three workshops led by specialists will allow local film/radio/TV workers to profit from them.
The Festival is supported by media such as TOLO TV, 8 Sobh daily, the International Association of Women in Radio and Television- India, Civil Society and Human Rights Organization, Shahrzad (radio for Girls), Mardom and Mojdeh radios and a number of other national human rights and international organizations.
The first Herat Women's Film Festival will run 7 to 9 March 2013 in Afghanistan by the news sponsoring of SFN.
