Short Film News (SFN)- The winners of the Cinefondation 2010 of Cannes Film Festival last night were announced.
Out of 1500 submissions, 13 student films from Asia, Europe, North America, and South America were under consideration by the Cinefondation and Short Films Jury, led by Canadian director Atom Egoyan, and also including directors Carlos Diegues and Marc Recha and actresses Emmanuelle Devos and Dinara Droukarova.
First Prize went to THE PAINTING SELLERS directed by Juho KUOSMANEN from Finland.
Second Prize goes to Anywhere out of the world directed by Vincent CARDONA from France.
And shared Third Prize to THE FIFTH COLUMN directed by Vatche BOULGHOURJIAN from USA and Lebanon and I ALREADY AM EVERYTHING I WANT TO HAVE directed by Dane KOMLJEN from Serbian.
Egoyan, in a prepared statement, noted: “The jury was extremely impressed with the quality of the selection, particularly the excellence of the directors’ work with actors. All the films strove to find unique ways of harnessing cinematographic vision with delicate and often haunting performances.”
