Short Film News (SFN) - The 2009 APSA - NETPAC Development Prize went to Korean Baek Seung-Bin, the director and screenwriter of Members of the Funeral which was a nominee at Asia pacific Screen Awards – 2009.
 
The US$ 5000 award has been designed to nurture new and rising talent in the region, and the winner was decided by a Jury consisting of Xie Fei from China, Yuka Sakano (Japan) and Mohammad Atebbai (Iran).
 
The Jury noted that Members of the Funeral features "masterful direction which attracts viewers from the beginning until the end of the film", and "visual imagery which is full of originality".
 
The prize was presented to Baek Seung-bin at a special ceremony, by Australian screen legend Jack Thompson.
