SVA School adds masters in short film

Short Film News (SFN)- SVA’s announcement of a one-year new degree program for Short Film.

Beginning in fall 2010, the School of Visual Arts in New York City will offer a Master of Professional Studies in Live Action Short Film.

Faculty members will include: Patrick Burns, Jr., editor and director; Jon Kane, editor, director and visual designer; Frederick Kaufman, author; David Nugent, director of programming, Newport International Film Festival and programming consultant, Hamptons International Film Festival; Peter Repplier, assistant director, producer and director; Rajendra Roy, chief curator, Department of Film, the Museum of Modern Art; Amresh Sinha, filmmaker; and Alex Tanaka, screenwriter.

School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City is an established leader and innovator in the education of artists. From its inception in 1947, the faculty has been comprised of professionals working in the arts and art-related fields.

The program will culminate in a thesis-based short film festival at the SVA Theatre in New York City.
