Short Film News (SFN) - The 4th Oberhausen on Tour program will be sending 40 films on a trip through 35 cities in 14 different European countries.

The tour which will Kick-off on 7 January 2009 presents short films featured at the last two editions of festivals, arranged into five programs.

Oberhausen on Tour was inaugurated five years ago to make the Oberhausen short films available to a wider audience outside the festival and From January to June 2009 will visit venues from Amsterdam to Zielona Góra, from Russia to Turkey.

For the touring programs Oberhausen has compiled award-winners and outstanding works from its competitions.

This includes 2008 German Competition winner, Eva Koenneman's Die Tragoeden aus der Stadt, Alexandra by Romanian filmmaker Radu Jude, winner of the main prize in the International Competition and If I Fall  by Hannaleena Hauru from Finland, a love story told in an unusual way.

In the line-up Best of Artist Film & Video the festival presents works from the arts scene, including productions by Jaan Toomik, Yael Bartana and Sun Xun.

Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Croatia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Rumania, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey will host the 4th Oberhausen on Tour.
