Third Eye Festival Announces Program and Jury

Short Film News (SFN) - Marjan Riahi, Short Film News manager is among the short film competition international jury at the 7th Third Eye Asian Film Festival in Mumbai, India.

She will judge fiction short films along with Meeta Vasisth, Indian actress and Philip Cheah, Singapore Film Festival director.

The festival which will open tomorrow with Tuya's Marriage by Chinese helmer Wang Quan An, is going to screen 80 films from 20 countries at three different venues: Chavan centre, Plaza cinema and Fun Republic.

Indian celebrity Aamir Khan and Indian director Madhur Bhandarkar will be felicitated at Third Eye, as well as Korean director Park Kwang Su who will receive Asian film culture award and P K Nair, former director of National film Archive who will get the Satyajit Ray memorial award.

Filmmaker in Focus section will present Dan Wolman's six films and Kim Ki Duk's five films and the retrospective section will present six films of Japanese director Keisuke Kinoshita.

In the Asian Masters section, seven films of Satyajit Ray will be screened. Also homage will be paid to late Youssef Shahine, the Egyptian director with three films.

The 7th Third Eye Asian Film Festival will run till October 23.
